First Aid / CPR / AED / Hyperbaric MedicineCPR / AED – Adult, Child, and/or InfantThe purpose of this course is to train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults and children. CPR / AED for the Professional RescuerThis course is recognized by the state EMT and RN licensing agencies and is equivalent to the AHA Health Care Provider or “C” level CPR. Participants may be health-care providers, laboratory workers, public safety personnel (law enforcement, EMS, and firefighters), business/industry emergency response team members, child care providers, ski patrol, lifeguards, and athletic trainers. First AidThe purpose of this course is to teach lay responders the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Emergency ResponseThis course meets US DOT guidelines for First Responders. Participants may be health-care providers, laboratory workers, public safety personnel (law enforcement, EMS, and firefighters), business/industry emergency response team members, child care providers, ski patrol, lifeguards, and athletic trainers. Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease TransmissionThis course provides professional rescuers with an understanding of the intent of the Bloodborne Pathogens regulation issued by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); how bloodborne pathogens are spread; precautions to prevent exposure incidents and how to recognize, report, and follow-up on exposures to infectious materials. Participants may be health-care providers, laboratory workers, public safety personnel (law enforcement, EMS, and firefighters), business/industry emergency response team members, child care providers, ski patrol, lifeguards, athletic trainers and others with a work-related risk to exposure. Wilderness First AidThis course is designed for those who work, play or live in areas 30 minutes or more from regular Emergency Medical Service (EMS) response. The course combines classroom lecture, skills practice and role-playing to teach the response steps and treatment of injuries and illnesses in a delayed-help situation. This course is designed for campers, hikers, hunters, fishermen or anyone who spends time in the outdoors. Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving InjuriesAs a recreational diver, you can receive training to provide vital first aid that can make a difference to a scuba diver with decompression illness. The DAN Oxygen Provider Course provides entry-level training in the recognition and management of possible diving-related injuries using emergency oxygen first aid. Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic EmergenciesThis course trains non-divers and professional rescuers (such as lifeguards) to recognize near-drowning / submersion incidents and other aquatic medical emergencies and to provide basic life support including the use of oxygen first aid. Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving InjuriesThis advanced-level program is designed to train existing DAN Oxygen Providers to use the MTV-100 or a Bag Valve Mask while providing care for a non-breathing injured diver. First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life InjuriesSerious hazardous marine life injuries are rare, but most divers experience minor discomfort from unintentional encounters with fire coral, jellyfish and other marine creatures. This course teaches divers to minimize these injuries and reduce diver discomfort and pain. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for Scuba DivingMore than 10 percent of all dive fatalities are actually caused by cardiovascular disease, according to DAN dive accident and fatality statistics. This course teaches divers and other interested parties to provide care for sudden cardiac arrest including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AEDs). Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for Aquatic EmergenciesWhen a person drowns, they may or may not inhale water. They normally enter cardiac arrest because of the inability to breathe. This course teaches interested parties to provide care for cardiac arrest by using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Basic Life Support for Dive ProfessionalsThe remote nature of dive accidents, whether a few hours from shore or days from civilization, frequently requires more advanced levels of care than are offered by traditional or entry-level CPR programs. On-Site Neurological Assessment for DiversLearn how to conduct a neurological assessment on a potentially injured diver in this course. The information gained in this assessment can help convince a diver of the need for oxygen first aid, and help a dive physician determine the proper treatment. Dive Accident First Aid for Non-DiversThis program is designed for non-divers and teaches them how to recognize the warning signs of decompression illness and help provide care for a diver involved in a dive emergency. Diving First Aid for Professional DiversThis program is intended for divers who are required to have first aid, CPR and oxygen first aid training prior to diving as part of their job responsibilities. It combines the key skills of CPR and first aid training with the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries, AEDs for Scuba Diving and First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries courses. Diving Emergency Management Provider ProgramLearn the knowledge and skills from several courses into one single approach to dive emergency management. |
